Samsung U28D590P 71 on Mac Pro 5.1 (old model from 2010)

Some time ago there was this Monitor a review in one of the leading computer magazines in Germany in the Samsung had cut with the best. Although the Samsung is "only" a twisted nematic display but costs accordingly, only one third of a 4K monitor with IPS panel (Inplane Switching). Parallel to monitor purchase, I have, therefore, an NVIDIA GTX bought 680, which can also generate the desired 4K resolution at 60 Hz After installing the video card and connecting the Samsung monitor, I'm just excited. Everything extremely sharp, again so much better than the previously connected Dell 27 inch. The only downside is that I unfortunately can not use OS 10.6.8 now. It was not until OS 10.8.5 there are corresponding NVIDIA graphics drivers for the Mac. All in all a highly recommended monitor which has the disadvantages of a TN monitor only to a small extent (viewing angles). For graphic artists, the monitor should therefore really only be of limited use, but I can not confirm. For normal graphical work, the device will do just fine At present, I therefore give it 5 out of 5 stars if you consider the price-performance ratio. It may certainly be even better monitors, but then also cost three times.
