I bought it mainly to install large cookbooks therein. It works very well. For example, with a book of 24 x 31 x 3 cm, it keeps very well and the lower part keeps really well the sides open.
You can adjust the angle to a crank on the rear side.
The type "brushed aluminum" is visually very good (but not as good for grease stains from finger ;-)
I'm very satisfied for the price.
