Now I have discovered that there is a new model H7.2. The specifications sound impressive and in the relevant forums and product reviews we read many good things about it. So I ordered one directly.
After recently trying out I had then but unfortunately find that some details seem very ill-conceived.
At first, the things that stood out positively me:
- Very uniform cone of light, which is also nearly 50% greater than in the H7
- Large zoom range of the light cone and uniform illumination
- Stable battery cover with sealing
- Elegant device (bands) to remove the batteries - up to the last. Since the band is no longer sufficient and they must so find out.
Now for the points which I find very disturbing:
- The power switch is much worse to feel and operate than the H7. How long the rubber last? Something is fast brittle
- The zoom rotary ring is hard to feel and operate if it is completely clean shot (maximum large beam). He would have to be much more stringent. Unfortunately it closes in this position flush with the lamp head, and has only small grooves that hardly bring something
- The brightness control is much more difficult to use than the H7. There, the protruding knob was very easy to grip - especially with gloves
- The headband is much too narrow. Here are a few more centimeters would be very helpful. So the lamp sits too full on my head and hurts after a short time
- I'm pretty sensitive to flickering light. Now the brightness is apparently set by pulse width modulation, ie in the low brightness level flickers the light. During fast or turning the head while running for me extremely disturbing
The three light modes (Low, High, Blink) I do not need personally. This is a nice gimmick, but makes the lamp more vulnerable. A microcontroller is also only one computer.
So I have sent back by return mail the lamp. Pity!
Let's see if two brothers can rework something here. The above information I send you by e-mail.
