Looking for an alternative for the fritz.repeater I came also the Asus.

The establishment of the repeater is a little more complicated (at least from the iPad).
First connection attempts are successful after entering the security information to connect to the router, the failed direct connection - unfortunately, I can not explain why me?
Only after I missed the repeater after 3. Reset own SSID, so that it appears as a separate device on the wireless network, a successful connection with subsequent access to the web interface was possible! (Standard IP for the web interface: 192.168.1.1 and automatic IP assignment up the assigned IP address from the router's configuration!)
Furthermore, the web interface for initial setup to half in German, the other half of it is by Footprint to understand if you do not want to rely on his intuition. Because a portion is shown in Dutch, for whatever reason ....
But is not that bad, if you bring a little common sense - but unnecessary!
The performance of the repeater convinced - until now.
Feels the power of the repeater is a touch higher than the Fritz.repeaters, the connection stable and small gimmicks like the passive, subtle lighting stand out.
All in all, a good device, which delivers what is promised.
Only the delivery could take the form of accessories, such as above-mentioned cable, be improved given the price!
Despite the low power difference for fritz.repeater, I will decide on the basis of the much more appealing designs (size, color, light), the Asus repeater.
Important plus point, although the met also the fritz.repeater, but should come up for discussion: the device transmits both the 2.4 GHz range, as well as in the 5 GHz range.
Conclusion:
For those among the potential buyers who want to have a powerful, efficient working, stylish Repeater with LAN port and AUX output, the ASUS is a very good choice!
The latter option in conjunction with the right peripherals, was not tested by me, on the one hand there is no need and yet on the other hand, no matching devices to test this option.
