At the beginning of the story, we meet our heroine Elinor. She spends most of his time drawing and reproduce works of art on behalf of her mother, she attends. It is certain to become old daughter before finding his cousin Theo. The love between cousin / cousin can shock in 2013 but at a certain time, it was quite acceptable and even current. Personally, I have no problem in placing me in the context and to join this beautiful romance.
The construction is interesting because we have an omniscient viewpoint Password Elinor Theo constantly. So we know from the start that they have feelings for each other even if they have not conscience.
Romance is central to this book but it's not the only one. I preferred the first two thirds of the story because we also have an investigation. Elinor (soon nicknamed Theo Nell) and his cousin are indeed looking for an object that was stolen while the Theo brought to his buyer. This is an erotic nature chalice used to its former owner for practical ... unconventional! Theo and Nell will have to unmask the thief and recover the chalice quickly. I especially liked the passages in the castle where the nights of our heroes are populated nocturnal escapades. They find themselves alone and are struggling to resist their attraction.
What I regret is that the relationship between Nell and Theo stagnated in the last third. They love without admitting it and there is very little change to the end. I had trouble believing that they are so blind and they avoid the subject at this point. Their conversations are repeated: Theo wants to marry (but not tell her that he loves) and Elinor refuses (because she thinks he does not like). The suspense early disappeared and unfortunately falls into the classic and the déjà vu.
Elinor is a modern woman for the times. It radically changes character by meeting Theo. She was previously cleared and subject to his mother and eventually discovers a strong character. She's stubborn and is not afraid to break the rules with Theo. Even if evolution seemed sometimes a little too fast, I enjoyed this young adventurer at heart. Theo is an endearing character. Despite a history of womanizing, when he falls in love with his cousin, he does not think any other. As I said earlier, we are in a very blue flower romance that will appeal to large romantic.
Finally, the style is pleasant despite some repetitions here and there. The author chooses to talk about characters like at the time, which is significant from a historical romance. Even if one finds too modern elements to the context (including a heroine who is too uncomfortable with physical contact!), It is caught in the game quite well and shows places and different clothes protagonists.
To conclude, "Little secrets and great wedding" is a romance all cute and perfect for a relaxing reading. Although the love story does not upset me like others, I had a good time. If you are sentimental and are looking a story full of tenderness, do not hesitate to get this title!
