After switching to Sony A5100 I initially wanted to go the usual route and as always buy top-lens 35mm 1.8 OSS. But then I became the Zeiss 24mm attentive expensive, but really just right for me ...
Well after much deliberation I have the lens, and it is exactly what I wished to focus, focal length, light intensity and feel.
About advantages of these optics Much has been written, which is hardly add anything.
The disadvantages are also known:
No optical stabilizer.
I personally do not necessarily negative, since it is not necessary at 24mm. I also have more problems with motion blur (persons, vehicles, etc.), as a total of blurred images. Here the stability would be even counterproductive, because it leaves the photographer selects and longer exposure times.
High price.
Let's face it, prices between 800 and 900 euros are compared for the lens with all the other great high-intensity Primes for NEX too high! They are actually only with the alternatives (in this focal length range offers nothing else Sony Lichtstarkes) explain.
My personal recommendation to buy only applies to cost less than 700 euros, despite the Zeiss-seal (the place in the meantime anyway on many Sony products). Such offers are often the net.
PS A nice extra is often ignored: This lens has a minimum focusing distance of only 16 cm!
