also my review for Memteq adapter:
Like all the other reviews beforehand there is nothing negative about the function of the adapter to report, it is only once installed and running. Here's the thing about installing a challenge. And the need to be overcome.
Here are my experiences (and claims):
For Eur 1:50 I bought a game on Steam, that operate exclusively with a game controller can (Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons). Alluded to the XBox, I did not like the gameplay, however, the price of about EUR 15, -. Interestingly seemed to add itself a receiver for the XBox adapter, since I currently barely use the XBox. => No sooner said than done.
The result: The MEMTEQ (R) Wireless Receiver and oa game.
My Opinion on the MEMTEQ (R) Wireless Receiver:
If you manage to install the adapter, it is on PC (in my case, with Windows 8.1) a really good buy, if it were not the case with the installation and that the device is sporadically not recognized at boot ...
My experience / My experience:
In Windows 7, there are no problems. - If you install the driver manually from the CD (device manager), everything works fine. Was my 1st test to determine whether the adapter is working ...
Under Windows 8.1: A (detachable?) Odyssey with not currently bewertbarem result
The Reason:
It's not easy to take MEMTEQ (R) Wireless Receiver in operation, if you use Windows 8.1!
However: Will it work first time, all is well ...
My tip (Comments are welcome, because I "can reconstruct" not know how you do it right):
First download the driver from Microsoft, and then install the driver manually. If you have done this, (see section Name u. In the appendix) can log on the USB device.
Interestingly, the adapter does not seem to register properly. Some start the device reappears as "Unknown Device" and the driver must be reassigned. I hope this is not a permanent condition.
If the adapter is installed first, you should put it in the same USB port _always_. Changing the USB port on the PC appears (abruptly u. Incomprehensible under what conditions) to cause the adapter must be no longer erkannt- and reinstalled.
Conclusion: ambivalent => Buy recommendation?
- For me: Yes, currently (see below).
- For other: No! - The appliance is safe only for people who are familiar with the Windows Driver Installation.
At present I do not know yet what will happen if the device is no longer recognized. Do I need to configure it each time when Windows has 8.1 forgotten again, "learning to fly the adapter" and that out the window.
