Have purchased the remote control for the SX50HS. Transmitter and receiver are operated with 2 AAA batteries. The receiver does not have an ON / OFF switch, the transmitters. The receiver is plugged into the camera's hot shoe and secured with locking screw and connected to the supplied jack cable to the camera. The receiver is turned on with a push button, by briefly holding, on the top, a red flashing light which lights up green when receiving, indicates operational readiness. Additionally, the receiver has a pressure-sensitive direct trigger button on the top.
The remote control has a pressure-sensitive release button, a power indicator and a rickety, poorly controllable slide switches for different operating modes and the possibility to attach a wrist strap.
Operation Fashionable age works for me only when the corresponding function is preset at the camera. You can switch between the functions via the remote control is not possible.
Transmitter and receiver frequency can be adjusted over four DIP switches in the battery compartment of both devices.
Through the receiver's hot shoe, the internal flash is blocked. If you want to use the remote control in combination with a flash, I recommend self-adhesive Velcro tape at the receiver, and either be attached to the tripod or Kameraghäuse to fix it so.
