The story begins with Dr. Robert Caxton who receives the manuscript a certain Sarah Grey. Here she describes her years as an assistant to Harry Price (which it really was by the way: [...]) and their common paranormal investigations. Mainly it is about the "most haunted house in England", Borley Rectory (also this is / there was really [...]). The house changed the relationship between Harry and Sarah forever, leaving behind eerie tracks.
Neil Spring offers in his debut novel much: conspiracies, secrets, interesting characters, weird events and of course may not be entirely absent and the feelings. The book is a Page Turner, who starts again, it can hardly put it down. It is very well written, superbly researched and exciting right from the start. Mr Spring know clearly how to write good plots. By I-shape (from the perspective of Sarah Grey), the reader is in the middle of the action and if suddenly turns up the spirit of a deceased nun, one can already stop the heart. This novel feels as if you were watching a movie, so clearly rising pictures in the mind's eye on. At the end of the book Neil Spring lists, which is true to its history and what is not. This makes them even more sinister ... and better!
And for those who read do not like: The producers of "Midsomer Murders (in Germany: Midsomer Murders)" just think about it, to film the book for television.
