The new Iced Earth album was so eagerly awaited and one can say with a clear conscience that it is again dealing here with first-class song material (all in contrast to the Horror Show). The new singer Tim "Ripper" Owens (ex-Priest) is doing more than well. He gives the songs the necessary power and his voice is just too Eiger than his predecessor Matt Barlow. Despite the many praise you also have to say that "The Glorious Burden" but not the class of a "Night Of The Stormrider" reached a step in the right direction is (Anspieltipps: Valley Forge, Attila, Waterloo). The album would have received from me four stars, but the Gettysburg Trilogy is the best thing that has appeared in a long time. Everything is just right. Lyrics, song structure, sound and almost epic atmosphere looking like him. This trilogy is definitely a must buy, not just for Iced Earth fans! Due to this trilogy, the Limited Edition of "The Glorious Burden" also gets five stars from me.
