For other readers who do not know Gilles Legardinier, I invite you to discover his world. In "And suddenly everything changes," we follow a young girl and her group of friends during his last year in high school. A pivotal year for all of us, with Tray, orientation to choose from, and many friends that we meet again, or very soon after. The author puts perfectly in this period of life, and this inevitably remind you of many memories.
The pace of the novel is fast and clear, linking scenes scenes without long monologue or description, as if it were a movie.
But it is especially the omnipresent humor that marks this book. I have rarely laughed so much reading a novel! The stories are incredible and often border on the absurd, but situations as well as the reflections of the narrator are hilarious.
"I also heard the opposite neighbor declare that God would call him to him and he would go to paradise cats. When, a week later, her washing machine was burnt and it is complaint to the whole neighborhood, I should have told him that it was God who had recalled and that she would go to paradise washing machines! "
