This book written by an Austrian amateur luthier is very complementary of the classic "build your own electric guitar" Melvyn Hiscock. Very detailed technically (manufacturing microphones, carpentry, tools and templates, diagrams, finishing settings) it counts numerous illustrations to facilitate understanding by the non-English reader. A basic level of English reading is obviously essential, but the technical vocabulary is quite repetitive and therefore very accessible after a period of adaptation. Also the dimensions are given in metric system, which is an undeniable advantage over the usual English literature on the violin! A must read for the amateur who wants to embark on self-build an electric guitar. A note: the website of Martin Koch [...] which offers useful online resources (spreadsheets for the spacing of frets, the neck and the key dimensions).
