The gesture of the Exiles, 1: Dark Covenant (Paperback)

Customer Review

Before dentrer in the thick of it, honor the sublime cover signed by Alexandra V. Bach. Heroine is represented in an outfit connected to a scene from the book and I have perfectly able to project the image of this young woman Jana. Little also notes the subtitle that my questioning: LA gesture Exiles. The women arrested because my I did not know its existence. For those like me not Nont built here is the dictionary definition of the word "set of long poems composed between the XI and XIV century, which are sung the deeds of historical or legendary. "(Larousse). This is the pages that we understand the meaning of this subtitle worry.

Louvrage making 417 pages, the margins are pretty thin; Early police and fairly large format, my reading was quite long. I must admit that I was somewhat baffled by early chapter on the left page and not on the right one as dordinaire. A little change does not hurt but for me, I found it annoying.

Now talking about the real content of the novel by Bettina Nordet. Having read several positive chronicles' dark pact ", I decided to buy it in a living room (shame lauteure wasnt therefore not present dedication sniff!). I will not hide my disappointment that I think has contributed to the fact that I put some time to finish it. However, all the ingredients are there to make this novel a heart stroke. A very original story, the diverse characters and just perfect writing. Unfortunately, mayonnaise has not taken this time.

By Bettina Nordet against my truly conquered by his powerful pen. Has plenty of humor, scathing spread, a rich vocabulary that allowed me to learn (and yes still lol) new words ...

I can say that everything started well! The first pages Mount totally caught up. This story of pedophiles, young women that detect through its mere presence and makes them confess all their crimes I've loved it! And it's a little fallen, lauteure do not held in my breath with this story, leaving aside in favor dune multitude of revelations that mark the plot and that surprise the reader every time. From there the action aplenty especially early! One even wonders if this will sarrêter at a time! But rest assured, lauteure allows us to take a small puff dair at some point.

Let's talk about Jana precisely. I LAVOUE, it annoyed me how much I liked but the problem this is that I have not succeeded despite the view in the first person, to mattacher to it. Why is she so volcanic internally, so funny, but those words never crossed his lips? In fact, Jana has great inner dialogues, sacred rants as i loved it, but she said nothing stop there early! She lets do it! She accepts BE cruised by Conan the Barbarian (oh sorry it sappelle Kell From Monio!) As if it were a vulgar barbie (ok sometimes she had no choice but still!). This frustrated me. Javais sometimes want to shake but good since my rabbit had already started the coverage I nallais not even mistreat the book Note also that the heroine undergoes many shocks and that this may explain his lack of reaction. No doubt she is flabbergasted?

However, if you are fond of legends you will be served! Personally I adore this. Bettina Nordet revisits with great references, many stories. The downside for me was the somewhat "brilliant" way to learn together Jana (along cétait as part of a course offered to the young woman), the story of where it landed and its inhabitants (not I will tell you nothing that would really ruin everything!). It was rather stodgy and I have reread the passages several times to understand. A bit like when learning a hard lesson Dur made. I even surprise to go back and find the long conference kind of way, the information that méchappaient thereafter.

As for the characters, I think I'm in love with Phen and Mayron, I hate Kell (well I lemmènerai well in church and you will understand why by reading the novel) that jexècre Lauriah and her husband, I worship A crowd Mehabel character crosses paths with Jana and finally I found them all more interesting than Jana itself. Why? For they are not all white or all black, that they put us doubt their intentions. No doubt this is it due to the fact that we are in the head of Jana and not in their novels in the first person sometimes make us fall into this trap. While Jana and therefore we know it makes it less enigmatic, however, is twofold Kell (not quun little), and Phen Mayron are mystérieuxEtc.

The positive point, the last pages have rekindled my interest! Well yes anyway Bettina Nordet knew hang me on the end. And to be honest, it's true that this is not a heart stroke, Jana does not please me more than this, but in truth, I am fascinated by mythology and the secondary characters are so interesting that I can not content myself of a single volume. I obviously read later.
