Destin so atypical for this time when France is the center of the art world and Versailles the focus of French musicians.
An admirer of Italian music, which probably earned him from his homeland in 1700 unwilling to appreciate too Ultramontanes he published the principal sum of his work, six suites for harpsichord in Amsterdam in 1701.
These later joined the Italian aesthetic to the French tradition. They have a very homogeneous structure, each comprennant 7 rooms, in the same order and begin not with a prelude, but a solemn opening "French", that is to say, in the style of Lully, two or three movements, slow-pointed fugato-recovery. These suites can also be played by a small instrumental ensemble.
Dieupart suites are just recorded and there were previously a reference disk for these oeures, that of Hugette Gremy Chauillac which I had fallen in love Charles Dieupart six suites for harpsichord
This double CD under the fingers of Fernando Miguel Jaloto is still at the top, at least in a very different style.
The Dieupart of Gremy Chauillac boudoir was a musician, intimate, fleeting. The sound rather sweet and distant gave this music a kind of chiaroscuro print a little melancholy.
Jaloto is that of dazzling light, solar. Thus the prelude are triumphant, ringing, vigorous unlike those Chauillac meditative and poetic.
The sound and very (too) close, and the instrument forcefully expresses its sound capabilities.
Voila my a beautiful double CD direction that honors Charles Dieupart, one of those that wrongly called "little master".
