I admit that I have difficulty in understanding the popularity of some readers for the novel, readers that I followed the advice by buying it. All is desolation in this narrative, despair, morbid ... The language is raw and realistic, which is not necessarily a fault, but it just says that this is a book for adults. I think I did not like this book because it's just not my style. I need to identify myself a minimum the main character of a novel. Now, this was impossible. This bitter young girl, who feels only hatred and desolation, who loves too easily and too quickly forget my taste ... Although the book is written in the first person, which leads generally to the identification, I n 'There was not reached. My opinion does not mean that there is a very good novel. The story hold water and is very rich in details, events, description of feelings ... The writing style is perfect, we read very easily, but again, the language is often raw and not even the gory details we are not spared. I found the end a little heightened everything. There was no indication that there would be a second volume, yet this is the case: "Deliver Us From Evil". Although I have not really enjoyed this book, I think I'll read later, if only out of curiosity. In the end, this is a book advising people interested in the myth of the vampire, but especially to people who do not necessarily have the happy ending or just prefer a bit of gaiety in their stories because there is the trace.
