It is not free criticism of a foreign journalist on our educational system in decline but an observation. Any French, parent or teacher can be found in the examples cited by Peter Gumbel. I found in this book that I have experienced in my schooling, lack of listening, this lack of self-esteem, this permanent stress .... all these problems my children still live today . Having lived abroad and had another education system, I can tell you that it is hard to put his children to French school. Peter Gumbel is right: we must stop this culture of nullity so that our children do not live the school as an ordeal. He dares to say what many parents think in simple words and numerous statistical data verified. This book should be distributed to parents' associations and teachers of all schools in France. It is high time that we rethink our educational system to enable our children to develop and build with confidence. Let's put the child at the heart of learning !!
