"VIOLENT STREETS (aka THIEF) - A Single Man" Michael Mann's feature film debut was - classics such as "HEAT" or "The Last of the Mohicans" should follow !!!
Even then, man had the right feeling for the visual, perfect in itself history - and the music.
Who this class urban thriller about a professional safecracker (Charismatic, pithy and brilliant: James Caan) does not know and his gang (including a very young James Belushi) and the inexorable downfall after one breaking his own rules, this should as soon as possible to catch up , a real gem !!!

Tangerine Dream have created the score for this film an absolute gem in honed art form!
Each track a tonal universe in itself, incredibly melodic and spherical, innovative, yet with the typical TD-sound of that time (1981), subtly driving and ominous - the perfect accompaniment for one of the most interesting thrillers of the 80s.

Of all the film scores that have written TD, I personally think this is the most perfect.

And one more thing, which is quite interesting for TD-fans: The brilliant track 8 entitled "Igneous" is nothing more than a new recording of the second Movements of "Thru Metamorphic Rocks", the third track from their ''79 album "Force Majeure" ,
However, here in perfect recording and perfect sound design - a track with almost briachial hypnotic effect, the highlight of this score!

An absolute recommendation - not only for TD fans !!!!!
