This device is a super navigation instrument which brings more than just GPS function. I use this device for paragliding, as well as geocaching and hiking in the mountains. The GPS reception is Garmintypisch well, even in narrow valleys, the GPS makes no mistakes and works exactly gratifying. In open areas, the positioning is fast and accurate. Now to what the device does better than others. On the one hand a magnetic is included 3-axis compass, which enables a relatively accurate bearings in the state to carry out, which is very helpful in Geocache and hikes. In a Funtktion the compass the Head Ding is supported, this means: one aiming at a point where you want to nourish themselves on a particular line (radial), and the unit will display a filing from the course. This function is for flying and navigation extremely useful because you should hold here in certain situations at certain rates. The barometric altimeter is for Fly Errei really great and helpful because the accuracy is still better than the pure GPS. For hiking in the mountains, it is a nice gimmick. Now for the card. The mitgeliferte card is not worth much. I'm using the TOPO Germany V3 and an OSM map. The Topo Germany is highly empfelen, sometimes a bit dark but very accurate, informative, knows every hut and really nice to look at. The OSM maps I have for the rest of Europe. For battery life, with a 2850mAh battery, I can operate the device for about 10 hours this but you have to be exhibiting the backlight and adjust the orientation of the map to the north, as the unit will always have to turn the whole Bilschirm and compute nu. If the map on the north only the arrow has to be turned. Now just for display, this is wonderful to read in the sun, I'm really happy with it and can follow the judgment of the previous speakers here only conditionally. Clear it could be lighter, then the consumption would again higher and the duration is less, for me a good compromise. Reading out side even without backlight works great and is for me the most important thing. To conclude: I have a lot of fun on this device, it is useful and I would buy it again at any time. Therefore ***** deserved.
