When I tried it at a pub about two years ago, I had wanted to show a friend the Laghavulin, but this was from. When I asked him what he would recommend us because, brought us the now host this Connemara by pointing out that this is quite similar to the Laghavulin. And in spite of not to be despised price difference of 20-30 or more, the two single malts remarkably similar, at least for the peaty smoky note.
For the nose naturally quite spectacular Connemara comes with a strong smoky note.
On the palate, the whiskey is however quite a bit more complex: although, even here, the peaty-smoky note, but he develops a very soft taste and makes every sip quite a great one, if one is a friend and the "peaty" to them not be deterred. He is, however, and it shows the price difference for Laghavulin, just not quite as complex as his Scottish "colleague".
Nevertheless, he is also just for the money, a whiskey to be quite able to place on the shelf without having to be ashamed. In addition, it is also available as a "normal single malt" in many supermarkets.
