Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy - [Nintendo 3DS] (Video Game)

Customer Review

Well, what can I say. The glorious period of the Professor Layton is over. The game's legacy Aslant represents the end of the second trilogy is yet to complete the Professor Layton series, if one may give Level 5 faith. The more you put on this game, and has for the excellent course Vorgaengertiteln appropriate expectations. To anticipate my conclusion same, I personally was disappointed bottomless despite the three-star rating. I will also justify the further course. All who want to just read, how great is the game, but do not stop reading from this point.

First of all, the general points.
The graphics are again the already known 3D graphics with 3D models that you already know from the Mask of Miracles. One can think of it, what you want, (I personally prefer the old 2D representation) but I have a feeling that one has designed the graphics a little rounder and the overall picture has improved compared to its predecessor. I especially like this time the backgrounds of the different places that drawn look very detailed and beautiful. Also here you have really very good managed to make the respective places significantly different and give them its own character.
The music is excellent again. She manages to impressively to give each place its own personality and to convey the local mood. It failed me somewhat the England melodies that prevailed in the first three parts, but in terms of the world travel theme I find their absence certainly plausible.
The controller works exactly like its predecessor, the Mask of Miracle, using the touch screen and the stylus. It examines the environment again indirectly by moving the stylus on the touch screen and so the magnifier served on the 3D screen. Probably I am now used to it, no longer disturbed me that this time.
The puzzles have me again liked. I had in this game under the impression that many puzzles were included, in which you had to really expect, and I'm concerned it could quiet a few more put the following picture of the big tile panels puzzles his skills, but on the whole, here have given me the puzzles again much better liked than in the predecessor.
The mini-games in this part have largely left a good impression. Total class I found the game where all the trees you had to bring to bloom in a garden, and also the newspaper article, with which one could unlock new places, conversations and puzzles and where I threw away me formally in places with laughter. Little or not I liked ready-to-wear, because sometimes, despite meeting all requirements, the outfit was refused without any valid reason.

And now we come to the part that evidences my bottomless disappointment: the story. From now on it can cause mild to moderate spoilers, but I try as best we can insert Spoiler warnings.
In general, I have to admit that this game has probably the most epic story of all Layton parts.
She sits down in Prizip from the main story together, where it comes to the legacy of Aslant, and from some side stories, in which the individual places are vorhestellt closer, you traveled over time. There are lots of new and some old faces and most of the new characters is sufficiently sympathetic. It's really fun to follow the side stories, and there are also a few places where I was very amused Spoiler: British humor in the jungle: D SPOILER END.
But where the game fails completely in my opinion, is the main story. For anyone who has looked at the credits of its predecessor, including the final scene, which knew from the outset behind which mask hiding the villain. I thought that was a pity, simply because it can not really come up voltage. Here one would have either omit a particular person or to save the credits of its predecessor.
From now SPOILER!
Nor does anyone know this unsatisfying feeling when you have watched an action movie and afterwards thinks Och was quite nice and exciting made, but the end is completely absurd and the motivation of Boese Klobuk has been totally harebrained? Just as I have after playing through this game felt. And that's when Professor Layton game that lives in Prizip only by the story and the puzzles really super sad.
In particular, if one compares this game (which has to make the game quite like because it is in two parts in each case by the conclusion of a trilogy is) with the lost future, significant weaknesses in the story are clear. In The Lost Future has found a really comprehensible reason for the actions of both the main Boese Klobuk which all three parts retired, as well as the specific side villain of the game. This one has messed duly at the legacy of Aslant my opinion. It is bitter enough, if you look at would like to take to the head at the motivation of the side Boese Klobuk. But induce pull the actions of the main Boese Klobuk follows the hair, is just plain disappointing. Clear, carrying everything somewhere helping to make everything more dramatic. But I've rarely seen an end to a game that so wanted was dramatic and epic that you just can SHAKE with his head. And so not turned after the credits then the contented feeling a that one has otherwise generally after playing through a game, but rather a bunch of questions that relate to the logic within the game. Some of them are the following:
ATTENTION FATS SPOILER:
1. The new parents of Hershel know his brother. It is understandable that you might not have both adopted, but it makes no sense at all that the two then have no contact. There is no apparent reason why the two can not be allowed to see.
2. What sensible reason Descole during the three games to take action against Hershel? That's right, absolutely no. In principle, the most logical behavior would, in turn, to ally with his brother. And with a character, which you have tattooed logic practically on the forehead, making this irrational behavior simply does not make sense.
3. Hershels father. Without Words. A beklopptere motivation has never come across me and be completely nonsensical behavior towards Hershel still puts the crown on.
4. Emmy. Same problem as with Hershels father, only a trace of nonsensical and-fetched drawn.
SPOILER END
So I could go on endlessly go on, but I've already written half a novel here, so I will refrain from doing the rest. I think my statement I made sufficiently clear.
Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy Istein decent game and makes a lot of fun, but the maximum disappointing end hnterlaesst a very bitter taste and spoils in my eyes as the last adventure of raetselliebenden professor.
