Quite different from these masterpieces is the new album "The Melody at Night, With You" - no concert hall atmosphere is created, no enthusiasm you'd expect in response to the jazz standards. No. On the contrary: Jarrett has not received the items in his private studio for a record production, he simply turned on the recorder when he practiced for himself at the piano. Dozens of such pictures are then the pieces were selected for "Melody at Night". It's incredible how intense this intimate atmosphere can be felt: Plastic seems Jarrett's wing suddenly to stand in the room, he does not seem to the listener, but only for themselves to play. Nothing can be felt from the severe incurable disease of the artist, which allows him only for a short time to play his music.
