A great, new Guy Kawasaki

If you do not have anything of Guy Kawasaki heard or read, then you should make up quickly.
Apple users is Guy as Chief Evangelist of Macintosh known and as such he has positioned itself weiterhn after working for Apple as well.
With the idealism of an evangelist Kawasaki wrote already nearly a decade ago about the "Macintosh Way," and titles like "Selling the Dream" or "How to drive your competition crazy". All of them deal bestseller in the US and in my opinion precursor of many current marketing "prophets" like Seth Godin (Purple Cow) or Christopher Locke (Cluetrain). The German editions were _leider_ somewhat less successful (which is no wonder, considering the translations or if only the cover design look at).
What I like about this book: Guy Kawasaki has changed. Or at least this book pleasantly falls out of the frame of the aforementioned, hard idealistic "everything--gut" books and is a great, absolutely pragmatic book; the completely reality-based complement to all his previous books, but also to Cluetrain, Purple Cow and how they all may be called.
Namely: the idea is to have one thing (about 1%), they economically successful implementation is another. And to the pragmatic, down-to-earth converting it comes in "The Art of the Start".
Guy has seen as an experienced Silicon Valley venture capitalist much - not least the dotcom bubble - and processed in this book. In parts one gets the feeling that he is a little tired of the dozens of entrepreneurs who made representations to him and repeatedly make the same mistakes - which have perhaps too much taken his earlier books on the heart and all the enthusiasm about their own idea many business aspects overlooked.
If I do not want me presume to place myself with Guy Kawasaki on the same level: many of his tips I have personally experienced (in the form of errors and repair) and can confirm absolutely and friend.
Fortunately, remained the same is Kawasaki's fresh, humorous and casual writing style - maybe a little accompanied by a little sarcasm here and there. Also, "The Art of the Start" more factual than Ankdoten-oriented, although the latter does not come off badly.
This book is not a "blah", not a "what if" and not "the world could be so beautiful" book. Click here about how they "get baked" Use without falling from purely economic and practical reasons, on the snout (or if so, then at least a little softer).
My conclusion: Whatever you start, whatever their idea, and how many "millions of sales" will bring their project well: you absolutely need this book. I devoured it in a single day.
