So I once bought the X-E1 with the two lenses, because again without loss I could have sold the emergency. But after a month use I know now that this is not necessary, because I am absolutely satisfied.
The X-E1 is significantly worse than the OM-D E-M5 (equipment, auto focus, ergonomics, ...) in several points, yet I love this camera. This is mainly due to the great image quality, the ingenious kit lens and the class exemption potential in conjunction with the Fujinon 35mm f / 1.4.
In terms of absolute clarity the E-M5 is at the front, but sharpness is not everything. The drawing of fine details is in the X-E1 significantly better and the sound is still very low even at ISO 6400. I'm not a big fan of editing and photographing exclusively JPEGs and just as the X-E1 can shine with great colors.
I also like prints photos print the result was very important to me and also since the X-E1 can convince. In my e-M5, the printouts were often too much saturated and a bit too dark, so I had to take countermeasures as beforehand with every post. In the X-E1 I'm just delighted with the print.
After only one month has more pictures of the X-E1 hang on my Wall as of the E-M5
Conclusion:
Overall I am very happy with the X-E1 and the purchase I have not looked back since. Although it is in many respects very far from perfect, but it is reduced to the essentials and what matters makes them right. Surely there is not a camera for everyone, but I recommend every once involved with them. This is a camera that screams after that to take time. So if you want a quick snapshot camera, which is advised wrong here.
