Customer Review

The novel by Jean-Philippe Jaworski was widely commented here that does not stop me from wanting to say all the good he inspires me. As in "Winning the war", the author manages to strike a balance between major and literature called escapist literature, heroic fantasy, genres often still despised and relegated to the lowest categories of para-literature. He manages this balance to this synthesis of a beautiful prose without boredom, a fascinating story without poverty or vulgarities, (at this level reached by the English of a Tolkien), without denying the tradition of novels escape, adventure, entertainment, but by rooting his invention in a historically verifiable Gaul, where characters and heroes are brothers and close to those of Homer, in a Celtic magic where we find the atmosphere of the novels of medieval Arthurian chivalry, Matter of Britain. In other words, Jean-Philippe Jaworski runs the risk of disappointing fans of SF and Fantasy too accustomed to a certain poverty of language and invention, and being ignored an intellectual readership for which literary creation must necessarily take the countdown reader tastes and expectations. Betting courageous than his own, for he writes for readers without prejudice.
