This trio is impeccable under the baton of Shelly Manne with pianist André Previn. Several memorable albums together these two guys here where bassist Ray Brown replaces Leroy Vinnegar more regular partner. They bring us a disk that has become a must and is now considered a classic. In fact the master on board is rather André Previn (also famous classical orchestra leader and composer Hollywood) who plays eight themes from the famous film "My Fair Lady". In view of the cover one might fear a commercial hit, riding on the success of the film at the time and acquire a disk "old-hat" by time. This is absolutely not the case; this album blithely crossed the decades (more than 50 years and not a wrinkle!). André Previn is at its best and Manne and Vinnegar deliver some truly memorable riffs. The snare rolls Shelly Manne on the intro of the first title "" Get Me to the Church on Time "and brush set the tone to the disc. This disc is particularly playful and very attractive. Tapped tempo feet all the time. We feel that they are happy and we communicate. A beautiful recording by accomplished artists; Very highly recommended.
