Those who have "Jasmine" loved the precursor CD this congenial duo, which has emerged from listening to the same recorded in Keith Jarrett's home studio in March 2007 sessions as here, must these "last dance" already have. Who "Jasmine" (still) do not know who has here now new the opportunity to hear what jazz, still and always, in his perhaps most beautiful, definitely can be intimate chamber music form: a dialogue of two instrumentalists (not : Instruments), which makes it sound, the soul of the characters involved. Jarrett plays in this duo concentrated, intoxicating, "compelling" than in all other incarnations (whether solo or in a trio); you get the feeling, he hears the same intensity as he plays. And Charlie Haden, who died on July 11, 2014 in Los Angeles, is here once again his true mastery: the right sound at the right time. That comes so effortlessly artless therefore, as devoid of Virtuoseneitelkeit that you could easily miss what that actually means to be SOOO sovereign, ever even having to prove anything to anyone anymore ... Charlie Haden was also a (very) good listener, and both together make the listener as in this case, third in the league on this recording quite simply: happy. (In any case, me.) This is music in which you can write books, bear children, live and love. Or simply (but not "only"): be. So beautiful so can life be so calmly present in the here and now. In a moment when one wishes forever. Too bad that the last dance of the two was now, at least in this life. Nice that Charlie Haden this publication was allowed to experience. Too bad that it has now also become a legacy. But, after all: the remains!
