With this lens, that's very possible. But Aperture 1.8 has (of course) its (high) price, who first put me off a bit.
After the first test shots I reserve the lens but in any case.
+ The pictures are well drawn from light to dark.
+ The picture is top for me.
+ The processing of the lens anyway.
+ Even cropping is possible.
Power for 1.8 to 3.5 for example (as in the standard zoom) so a big difference?
YES! A motif of 3.5 required for a sample photo with moderate light ISO 3200 (to take pictures of the hand can)
The same motif at f 1.8 (up to 2.2) I can take pictures with ISO 1600. And the lower ISO number you can feel very dramatically in the results!
I am very pleased to have this lens in my humble collection and it can every Nex and ALPHA 5000 and 6000 owners only put your heart.
(The lens is the Sony E-Mount APSC-censor - on a full frame camera, it can indeed betreiebn, but will receive only APSC results !!)

If it were up 6 would get well and more stars from me this lens.
I've done some more sample photos of subjects that otherwise rather difficult succeed. It is a pleasure, as finely resolves this noble glass. The colors come for me perfectly and the high sensitivity of 1.8 I am learning now only really appreciate. Man can experiment wonderfully with the depth of field (shallow). The pictures are definitely just as good.
