The Hagakure reference for understanding (part of) the Japanese people. This edition is particularly successful. I had laminated one from the film of Jim Jarmusch "ghost dog", but is unrelated to that of Budo editions. Much less complete, it is working to take over the most significant passages without giving much explanation. But to understand the spirit of this work, especially for us Westerners, it is necessary to have a little "help" from the translator and publisher. Restored in its historical, religious and moral of the time, it allows to adjust to this reading. For it must be recognized that the message here is far transposed oriental clichés that one can have. And also very far from our Judeo-Christian culture ... As life prevailing over death. We should not see this written as an ode to the stupid suicide, but "definitive" precepts over a given time, and behavior to have in all circumstances.
The book in itself is a reasonable size for easy reading, and decorated with references and comments to almost easy understanding.
Although it is translated and wrote a book to recommend for anyone curious thought Japanese.
