If I had to name one of the novels that changed my life, "shore" would appear in the list. Waiting- book on the comparison that comes to mind and the "Desert of the Tartars" of Buzati- obsession of waiting. Atmosphere, irenic, timeless and captivating. All served by one of the greatest stylists of the French literature of the 20th. What a beautiful French language.
The term head Doeuvre is not usurped;
Work less known but wonderful too: "the notebooks of great ways" Promenade (text collections) through the landscapes and the history of Europe; This is literally my favorite book.
