Star Fox was, without any doubt, the best "Shooter" on the Nintendo 64: Besides stunning graphics, beautiful music, colorful characters with heartfelt dialogues, we had the opportunity, following its performance, taking many paths through Lylat before arriving to Andross. The player had the opportunity to choose their destiny, which remains the greatest originality of this title.
Fourteen years later, Star Fox 64 Spring on the Nintendo 3DS: So, is it still up? The answer will be yes, without hesitation!
Nintendo's technical teams have done an outstanding job. Thanks to 3D, not the world of Lylat only appeared as alive: one must see the water effects Corneria or columns of flames on Solar!
The gameplay has been improved. A real feat that shows that Nintendo does not simply take the original game, but has yet perfected.
True, the game remains the same in its development, but the oldest and most demanding players can rest assured they will benefit (after release) of an "expert" mode which is aptly named and the possibility to redo levels played to score maximum points and so earn medals to unlock "challenge levels" who will put them to the test pads.
Only downside, the original English dubbing, played particularly well is replaced by a French dubbing bland ... However, do not spoil our fun because of that little detail.
Star Fox 64 remains a great RPG discover for new players and rediscover for older: indispensable in toy libraries.
