Piledriver is because in a truly loving and beautifully designed digipack presentation. Except for the annoying deluxe band around it can be found here really nothing to bemängeln.Sämtliche inlays and Back Covers are provided with previously unreleased band photos and cover photos of 7-inch singles, also, the two CD's a replica of the former vinyl records.
Usually I come here for the music, but on the musical content needs to lose no more words. The breakthrough of the status quo, which paved the way for them and the start of an incomparable career meant, and the birth of a sound that only this band can celebrate authentic / should. Status Quo, the pioneers of boogie Hard Rock.
The numerous bonus tracks on CD2 did not care for me although for outcry, yet are nice additions. They are all songs of live or TV appearances, which were professionally recorded partly partly on bootlegs, from the years 1972-73. The quality is okay, here the remastering really helped. The songs are repeated in part, however, in the tracklist, and sometimes it can happen that you do not know just which version you now actually listen. But that is not so bad and also okay because Quo played their songs live in the studio, too. ;)
The remastering of 2014 superb! And much better than denominated 2005 remasters, here emphasis was placed on genuine, prüzisen sound. In direct comparison, the instruments are more differentiated and better places have "more air to breathe". Generously was the shots again paid more dynamic (DR 9-10), which improves the sound significantly.
To read there are also a lot, namely the class newly-designed booklet with extensive liner notes to the making of the album, written by Dave Ling.
All in one is this Deluxe Edition its emergence sense the ceremony of their own existence, justice. The 4 men of Frantic Four wanted to give her masterpiece the honor to appear in a renewed deluxe edition. This honor is them completely successful. Personally, I would have most liked to have more live recordings or demos, but you can not have everything. The existing bonus tracks are great, the new remastering as well, so it is worth buying definitely!
