OPINION
I'll tell it straight, I'm not a big fan of fairy tales New censuses. The little or no appeal to me, because if I want to read a fairy tale, then I access the well-known book, which should accompany me in childhood: the storybook of the Brothers Grimm.
But when the moon male, cyborgs and an irresistible prince I will of course not say no, because it sounds completely atypical for a reinterpretation Cinderella. So I picked up the book with a mixture of suspicion and curiosity. Although Cinder begins almost exactly like Cinderella at, but looks can be deceiving, because there are only the basic elements of the fairy tale, which one finds in Cinder. Prince, wicked stepmother and her daughters and a ball. My suspicion so you can safely ignore, because the book evolved into wonderful reading sessions.
Cinder is therefore not a fairy tale. So what? Well, the question I have asked me in the classification for an appropriate genre. Fantasy? But the book is too scientific. Dystopia? Close, but comes through in the interpretation. Wikipedia says: A dystopian society is usually characterized by a dictatorial form of government, or a form of repressive social control .. There were world wars and the society in Cinder now plagued with an epidemic around, but quite dictatorial is not the whole, therefore. In one place people even go to the streets and protest (which is indeed suppressed, but not by the government).
So ending? Yes, no, maybe no idea. Cinder is so much and so individual that it really difficult for me to classify the book somewhere. There are so many elements that make up the book and everything fits clever to act together without pretentious or even annoying. The action in this case runs smoothly and exciting. Almost so perfect already.
Fast. Of course it was clear that I would find the hair in the soup. Some are now determined to believe, it is the characters, just as I had already criticized at Goodreads. It took a little longer than usual, but then also to me the figures have grown fond of and I was quickly caught in Cinders adventure.
Rather, I did not like that the act in some places but was then very transparent. I would now like to give any examples, because I would otherwise tell you too much. But with so many little things and details, I had hoped for but that one or another turn would come, that can surprise me.
But but the end was really well done and so different than expected. This shows that not only in front of Marissa Meyer had a tale to tell new, but to write its own story, with love, individual Figueren and a beautiful story with many details and tricks.
CONCLUSION
Times very different from each pabulum comes Cinder therefore quite charming and convinced me. A sassy blend of Sailor Moon and Cinderella, yet difficult to classify. Certainly one of the books, according to which one should engage, if you take enough of all and has something new searches.
