Would he have eradicated the quirks of his predecessor (5960)? And Philips has learned and donated the DVD player community finally the first player in the low-price segment with USB 2.0 support?
I nehms first: I was not disappointed.
The player reigns supreme! In particular, the DivX / Xvid and MPEG2 (SVCD compliant) Support USB fold properly due to a USB 2.0 port. (And this is not even an official capacity of the player in the manual!). Say No picture stutter more due to low bit rate! The image quality is excellent. Incidentally supported the players on Qpel and GMC and so far he has eaten all the USB sticks from me.
All other features of the player correspond to my expectations, even the receiver part of the remote control at the player, which in the 5960 was a disaster, has been enhanced. There is no need now exactly "draufhalten" in order to obtain a response.
Absolute recommendation for people who want to see compressed formats via USB! (.mpg And .avi). It is currently the only player under 100, - which this guaranteed without errors.
The only small drawback: Even during 5980, there is no "GOTO <time>" - function on the remote control. Let's hope that Philips learns here and possibly eradicates this via a firmware update.
