A murky history

My publisher advised me, and curious novelty, I bought. The first impression, somewhat positive, is that I find admirable the introspection ability of the author to get into the skin and sensibility of the other sex. The author, a man, writing on behalf of a woman in search of the lost history of his deceased brother. And I must admit that on this point, the author has actually managed to describe the personality of a woman to the point that I have repeatedly checked whether the writer was indeed a man. I assure you, Olivier Adam even has a beard and a virile face. I admire is by ability and paint the characters to their interior.

My criticism is not about the literary and especially narrative qualities of the author, but rather on the story: Murky and sad. An initiatory journey of a woman in his fort where everything goes wrong inside without the real reasons we can say other than Freudian, not really explicit, mentioned by only brief references to memories related to the father and mother .

I did not like this story. It is bland, slow, and no real food for the drive. Some would be able to feel touched and be sensitive. I can understand that, but after?
"I was drowned me short." Thus ends without great flavor for my taste novel.
