A new masterpiece of electronic music

War "Satta" in 2001 almost a downbeat classics (the intervening two albums I do not know), is "4" a remarkable opening to new horizons. This can almost be taken literally quiet when one considers the great cover-artwork. From the titles of the individual pieces, the issue can be derived "Arctic / North". Just like the artwork, the music of the album is kept in gray, but not boring or icy, but warm and in very different tones. For various electronic and traditional ingredients results in a varied sound. The first track (with trumpeter Markus Stockhausen) is reminiscent of some of the work of Nils-Petter Molvaer. There are points of reference to Minimal Techno, Ambient and Dub. The whole work is in my view based on the spirit of jazz. The rhythms move in mid-tempo and occasionally the music is literally stand and acts almost freely improvised. A plate of this kind needs to be heard at a time - and the best one after the other. Electronic Artist of 2014 therefore have to tidy effort to produce something similar to good this year. It is desired them.
