Cinder is a cyborg, adopted at the age of 11 years by a Chinese family. She lives in the Chinese Empire, "New Beijing". With a natural gift for mechanics, to 17 years it is that which sustains the home, consisting of his stepmother (good bitch, though odious, very selfish, very wicked, stepmother of fairy tale successful!), his two sisters-in (weak and superficial as evil, they too successful) and his assistant robot (with a personality like "guinea fowl" magnet celebrity magazines and lipsticks, very funny) .
One day, a mysterious young man, hidden by a cap, comes in his studio. He was told it was the best mechanic in the country. This is the Imperial Prince, whose image is chilling / scream / faint all the girls of the country. His guardian robot is broken, and it is urgent that it be repaired. Fast that the robot is understood to be far more important than that.
Cinder will attempt to fix the robot, while a new epidemic decimated the country (imagine the Black Death, blazing-fast) and Lunar Queen (alien enemy kingdom of the Earth, populated by beings knowing psychically manipulate men) arrived on New Beijing for what does not seem to be a courtesy visit.
The story is very rhythmic (although missing some subtlety, you'll understand), Cinder is a heroine we love quickly (complexed by his physique, harassed by his family, victim of racism, but lively, hardworking and with hope) and the whole is full of fantasy.
However, as I was willing to overlook the history a bit disheveled / caricatured as psychology Prince me a little more raised eyebrows. It is transparent. As in fairy tales, of course. It is beautiful (very) he needs help, he is in love with Cinder. Apart from these three characteristics, there is not much material, which prevented me from really get into the love story. And alas, what is presented as a huge twist at the end of the story is sewn white wire (any player over 10 years will have guessed long before even the "Info dump" was suspect from the beginning ...). This does not interfere with the enjoyment of reading, because we are supposed to read a fairy tale. And it does not stop me to read more. But this is "gifted student, can do better."
