I chose this sound - I liked the retro look - mainly for listening to music in different rooms of the house, including the garden, and for its karaoke function. However its possibilities are more extensive and I will update this review as soon as I could test them, or have them tested by more advanced than me in my surroundings.
The device comes in a carton, well cushioned and well protected. The microphone is in a separate cardboard box with its antenna and cables. It requires a battery, delivered with, and enjoys a summary leaflet, illustrated and annotated in German - which is not very troublesome, the use of this mic is simple and intuitive.
However the device itself has no instructions and requires some trial and error, which will be more or less important according to the custom of the user. I éclaircierai some points in the rest of this comment.
The different uses of this sound:
- Listen simple music, almost anywhere: this sound will charge in a few hours (5 hours according to the manufacturer, I will check for use) and thus becomes independent for many hours (I will specify how soon and after a listening hour charge - indicated by three LEDs - was always at its maximum) and can be carried in the carrying handle thanks to its retracted or being dragged by its telescopic handle deployed (see photo). It is not very heavy (13 kilos) and runs well, but I think it is better not to impose too uneven floors. The handle is easy to handle, it seems a little fragile in light of the object, but this is not necessarily a guarantee of fragility: to do with use.
You then have the choice to listen to music via the various connections of the device:
=> On top: USB port (for USB keys and MP 3), SD memory card slot.
=> On the front: "AUX input for connecting external audio sources such as MP3 and CD players and computers": I still have not found how to connect this sound in my laptop, no more than fixed PC my son; to see. However micro function was successfully tested (see below).
The sound is very decent quality, the maximum volume loud enough without being deafening. At first I think this sound is restricted to medium sized parts, not too wide open spaces, for groups of a few dozen people.
The interface allows you to modify the sound, and slowing the laccélérant, for example.
The volume will be modified by the silver button on the top of the front, far right, turning simply, "old."
Note the dual use of the black button "push" on the top of the unit, at top right, which a little tricky to understand:
=> To move forward and backward range (song): press, hold down gently and turn in one direction or the other: the tracks are skipped (bottom of the screen, with their shares in full); loose as soon as we found the one we want to listen, those following senchaîneront.
=> To change the folder: press for a moment the black button; appears just above the title of the current folder (which is then isplays in full in the bottom of the screen), the word FOLDER (English folder). Then turn the knob to scroll through the files; when the folder is displayed, press twice the black button (quietly, not double-click!).
- Mixed use of the sound system: the description states: "6.3mm microphone jack XLR, 6.3 mm jack instrument input, stereo RCA AUX input, 6.3mm stereo line output".
In practice we have tried the use of micro, very satisfying.
Note that the latter, although it works through a wireless system VHF system does not allow a completely ambulatory use, because its frame must both be connected to the sound system (front, far left) and the sector. Thus, even if the sound is loaded it will nevertheless a decision +/- use an extension cord to the microphone.
Microphone sound: very satisfying. We must speak / sing in front, glued limit, but not unpleasant shrill noises were reported.
The scope: the manufacturer promises 80 m, it is checked, the microphone can also take on different floors of the house without losing the sound.
The use: the sound of the microphone is superimposed on that of music. Note that the microphone volume is autonomous (silver button to the right of the microphone jack on the front panel) and that it is possible to vary both the music and the microphone. To return the exclusive use of the micro just put the music paused.
The front also has an input "instrument", together with its individual volume control, double entry "auxiliary", "AUX" (a white card, a red card) and a button "USB / SD / AUX - GAIN ".
In conclusion a very playful sound, quality, which will use both basic (outpatient music listening) and more sophisticated, with multiple possibilities, not yet explored in full. Those offered by the use of micro will facilitate meetings and games with much ease.
