Usually when I see a new CD Mike Oldfield (this date of 2012), I do not try to understand: I buy ... Indeed, I am always looking for novel, arranged versions of in short, something new ...
Looking at the titles, I've realized that some conjured nothing ... Two reasons for that. First of all, for me, albums like Mike Oldfield Tubular Bells II Tubular Bells III, Songs of Earth remote, Music of the Spheres is listening in one go (the songs are connected and if the albums are cut in this way, it is - I think - to please the studio). So "Harbinger" and "The Tempest" meant nothing to me ... then they are part of the securities of "Music of the Spheres". But then, and this is where I push a cry: the title "Spanish Tune" is actually a very short extract of the album Hergest Ridge! Normal, therefore, that I have never heard of this title!

But the worst comes to listening to the first song: "Tubular Bells" ... At first, all is well: the well-known piano theme ... and then in the second minute, another passage comes suddenly, without any arrangement or fading, continue for 45 seconds, before the beginning resumes again for about twenty seconds! Both say that I cried (again!) To blasphemy and wonder if this album was not made by any amateur studio!

Finally, the "long" version of "Guilty" frankly not worth a visit and we would, on the contrary, it is shorter ... as the original version, what ...

In the end, it was a kind of compilation, with well-known classical themes and eternal compilations (Hergest Ridge, Tubular Bells, Ommadawn, Incantations), songs ("Moonlight Shadow", "Family Man") and then here and there some latest album titles, including the album Music of the Spheres (two songs: "Harbinger", "The Tempest") or the Light & Shade album ("The Gate", "Angelique") but by cons nothing of Tubular Bells II albums, Tubular Bells III or the wonderful Songs of Earth remote ...

In short, this compilation has no interest and we prefer The Complete hundred times, which not only includes most of sung titles or not 80 but especially stunning live versions ("Mirage", "Platinum", "Mount Teide ")
