Two cocoa beans (Paperback)

Customer Review

First, when you turn the last page of this book, it is said that "Two cocoa beans" is a fabulously title chosen by the author as it restores perfectly the atmosphere of the novel. For all those who want to tackle the theme of the slave trade through a writing related to children's literature, the choice of this book is quite justified. The story is beautiful, poignant, rough, moving, especially perceived by the eyes of a child (with all its naivety). Still, it hardly seems affordable with elementary students because some passages are quite hard.
The desire to know his own history, his past, is the greatest wish for every adopted child. This is the starting point of the book. The stage is set. The journey that will lead this world (cruel) adults, will make him open his eyes to the slave and therefore these roots. A beautiful book to discover and share.
