A success that surprised

I forced myself to finish the intellectual honesty, the only memory I have left is the ugly feeling that emanates from every page.

Apart from the rich descriptions emotions of the protagonist, everything is very ugly. Laustérité places, the protagonist chamber, the monstrous employees of the farm, the miserable victims become targets deformed by the tortures inflicted, the mutilated body of the protagonist and even the description of the "beauty" of the invaders.

I closed the book with a bitter feeling of disgust. Only the style reveals a respectable author.

But the real sacrilege is that nothing happens. Even the ending is trite and predictable.

A film was inspired by the book, as ugly as the book, despite the presence of Scarlett Johanson, and looking like a work of art and essay film without much interest.

There are those who love it, and the book and the film. I respect their choice, but for me it's not my tea cup.
