A successful Alternate History - Roman

Generally, we can probably say that it is the genre of Alternate History is Robert Harris in "Fatherland" excellently managed (What would have happened if ...) to mix with the elements of a thriller or thriller. The book reads very easily, constantly new voltage is generated and, even, of course, Harris builds his story on so twisty that it is impossible for the reader to guess already beginning the outcome of the story.

What fascinated me personally, as a lover of history in general and the history of World War II in particular, to Fatherland's how Harris is recording a dystopia. How could Europe can look like if the Nazis would have been victorious. In my opinion, Harris describes this very impressive as it could have been. Detailed and (as far as I see it) historically properly. You can tell the man has dealt with the idea, not only to write this book, but in their own interest.

For all fans of Alternate History is an absolute must. Mixed with historical explosiveness looking for all the easy entertaining discussions, are also in good hands with Fatherland.
