The Logitech Driving Force GT wheel is well protected in a very nice, glossy black box delivered. Inside the package there are the steering wheel, the pedals, various cables and a German manual.
The mounting of the steering wheel is relatively simple and straightforward. The steering wheel is simply bolted to the desk and connect with the pedals and the power supply. The steering wheel is automatically detected by Windows 8.1 as soon as it has been connected to the USB port. So you can use the steering wheel for the individual matches, but first a small software from the Logitech website to be downloaded. This software then automatically search for installed games and sets the steering wheel a match. Everything happens automatically.
Now the racing steering wheel can be used for the respective Games. Next, you should adjust the steering wheel to your own personal preferences. Here you can for example adjust the steering wheel, the engine power of the Force Feed Back, or even the individual buttons and switches. For example, for the racing game F12013 can set the circuit on the steering wheel, for the Classic mode with the old 80's vehicles you can switch to the manual gearshift.
In the race, the steering wheel do a lot of fun! The steering wheel is pretty darn good in the hand. The control is very precise and delicate. You can feel every collision, every curb and any pastures. A swerving vehicle can be felt immediately and can accordingly countermeasures. The pedals (accelerator and brake) are extremely accurate and sensitive. One should only note to mount the pedals on the floor properly. If you really deepens one race supplies, it can easily happen that move the pedals. Another point which had bothered me somewhat, is the relatively loud wheel noise. Because I drive mainly with headphones, I almost did not get it with. Without headphones, however, the noise is a bit annoying.
Furthermore, I noticed that I heated steering wheel relatively quickly. After a Formula 1 race at 50% race distance, which corresponds to about 45 minutes, the housing heats enormously. Whether this is harmful in the long run, I can not judge. If a defect later turn out, then I will report on it again.
