The story begins with the discovery of no less than five girls arm, the left always placed in five small graves located in a clearing - no less. From there, we say we are dealing with much gore thriller inspired by the American author Mo Hayder. But the originality of the story is to be found in the fact that the search of the remains of five bodies will allow during the 300 pages of the "Whisperer", directing criminologist Goran Gavila and his team of investigative specialists in -connue the "special Squadra" - to clues that will confuse different killers of a particularly vicious kind. And then the author did not offer us a taste of chopped descriptions of grisly scenes - that's not his style, obviously.
The discovery of a sixth arm in the clearing, convinces Goran Gavila to call Mila Vasquez, an expert on kidnappings. From there, the small team installed in an apartment not really comfortable or pleasant, will develop a theory that nobody wants to hear about, saying that all murders are related, although the evidence found during the discovery of the corresponding body arms lead to different killers. For in fact, men of the Special Squadra have increasingly felt that they find the clues were deliberately created to handle during their investigation. In fact, the reason for these strange discoveries is that the serial killer of this story seems to have had the strange urge to get rid of its "competitors", finding them, and then arranging for ceux- these are discovered.
Amazing, right?
Well, the story slips a little, it must be said, at a time when the author serves us too many reversals of situations in just fifty pages, which are a bit light for my taste.
But the last five pages and afterword by the author do all get sorted, making us discover an uncommon species serial killer.
The descriptions of characters, physical as psychological, are very detailed and they are very credible. This is the psychological dimension of Chuchoteur who does stand out as well, and that makes the belonging to a new category of arrival thriller this year, it seems, with the TV series "Lie to Me" and, together with the correctly noted another comment, with the very dense "Grandoria". Well, the "Colombo" series played a lot of this register also, indeed. But here I am referring to authors approaching the psychological dimension of crime with a really scientific and very deep look. And it is also not free, since the author, Donato Carrisi, is truly professional criminologist ...
For such a specialist job, it's worth it five stars, indeed.
