A timeless wonder.

Ah, Antigone! The only book I have read and reread and reread again. The curse that affects the descendants of Oedipus, following the tragic and inescapable destiny of it. The revolt of Antigone and the question of arbitration between human justice and the concern about the city, the dilemma of reconciling justice and freedom (see about the excellent "Socrates against Antigone: The problem of obedience to moral philosophy in unjust law "Thierry Twenty-Hanaps).

I just reread again this short play, this time to my children, who were delighted; there is no age to philosophize ...
Especially admire the memorable presentation of the Prologue at the beginning of the play, with the characters in the background, scene which had captivated me immediately from my first reading.
I say no more. Really savor. This is THE part that I was then guided to read all the documents of Jean Anouilh, who greatly plues me and I'll also enjoy reading again someday (I admit never having had the courage, however, to read the original Sophocles, whose writing repulses me a little).
A truly immortal work.
