Unless devoid of empathy, heart, feeling, or emotion, this novel does not leave you indifferent and obviously I recommend it! We have here a beautiful lesson in humility. "Silence Melody" is a novel written simply but with great poetry. Simple does not mean here writing for children. No, it's very well written and it's simple because it's very touching! The author did manage to recreate the emotions of Melody, this 11 year old who has cerebral palsy and can neither move nor speak. We can not fully imagine what it feels to be locked in his body 24 hours 24 but here includes a minimum thanks to the power of words. It's a great lesson that we receive, especially as the Melody intelligence we touch. This girl is brighter than most of us and yet all these faculties are bottled in his expressionless body. It reminds us how lucky we are in life everyday! We are fortunate to move at will, able to eat with ease, can talk! And the language is what is most lacking in melody until she receives a device that allows him to express himself. And then ... And then again a moral good. In this world, people see with their eyes more than their heart. This is the real handicap of life. Never forget.
