"Voyage" is actually an album released in 2012 but has not spread beyond the borders of Iceland ... or very little. But today, things will change: the German label, Nuclear Blast (which really, placing on the big seventies revival with the recent signings of Orchid, Blues Pills, Scorpio Child, Kadavar, etc ...) by discovering these little Guys, did not hesitate two seconds to offer a deal to the group and to redeem the Rights of the album in question to republish and distribute it worldwide. It includes them and thank them!
We thank them because that's the kind of listening that are spring with bananas. The sound is round and warm. It groove of the fire god, the bass has a large place (this is the advantage trios, guitars do not obscure), guitarist knows what the word means feeling (damn, solos that it sends!) and the drummer is not outdone. Thereupon the young singer, Óskar Logi, demonstrated an astonishing maturity with his voice with his six strings sticking totally seventies mind, knowing modulate her singing when the atmosphere is more laid ( the beautiful ballad "Do You Remember" and the first part of "Winterland" that feeling of sweat) and is also capable of surprising by its shrill cries ("Midnight Meditation" whose riff reminds some "Paranoid").
With the last song, the very space (and special) "The Kings Voyage" is immersed in the psychedelic rock flying high (this is the case to say). Twelve minutes of interstellar travel with quite heavy tempo start but that turns crazy with a central part hallucinating that would not have denied the space rockers Hawkwind. The title ends with the creaking of an old vinyl, as if to recall one last time a distant time ... but not if it's gone as combos such as The Vintage Caravan will return us to make a tour of it from time to time.
Cows, slap! Between Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, King Crimson, Cream and Deep Purple (but not too much like any of them), it is carried away into another dimension by the caravan from another time, a time when the music sounded true, without subterfuge of all kinds. Guitar, bass, drums, one vote. The essence of Rock. These kids have it all and they have a huge talent.
Like guitarists that affect their ball without overdoing it? You listen real songs, melodic and groovy? You are not remained refractory to groups blocked with influences of rock of the seventies? This first album The Vintage Caravan should entice you.
