"The Campaign of 1814" provides 130 pages in only a very explicit analysis of the "Campaign of France." Forces, force distribution, maneuvers, surprises, misunderstandings and strategic errors are highlighted with skill and precision by Carl von Clausewitz who delivers here a very balanced critical view on this campaign. The author is sometimes admiration of Napoleon's strokes of genius, sometimes more realistic about deadlock was finally his. Far from the usual myth surrounding the "Campaign of France", this small study is very useful to understand the issues and realities of these events in military history of France and the world (being taught in many schools of war).
