This is the first book of Robert DOISNEAU, accompanied by an abundant text Blaise Cendrars (1887-1961), "backpacker around the world" from the age of 16 years and one of the greatest contemporary writers, Original French Switzerland, traveled in every direction this suburb of Paris. In writing the text of the first photographic album "The suburbs of Paris", and it allowed the revelation of a great illustrator photographer "which reveal his sensitivity and humor."
The table of illustrations of this book for themes: kids, love, sets, Sundays and holidays, leisure work, the terminus and homes, all to be seen in the social context of the post 39/45 war.
This album allows, as stated in his presentation the editor, "to find a dense text, both passionate and poetic, and satisfy photography enthusiasts with already classic images of the old world and so close to us."
