After the predecessor "Thick As A Brick" (1972) and "A Passion Play" (1973) consisted mainly of overlong pieces, we listen to "War Child" again shorter songs. Some pieces were written before "A Passion Play", but found only here on "War Child" course.
Well I like the song `War child`,` Queen and country`, `Sealion`,` Skating away on the thin ice of the New day` and `Bungle in the jungle`. These are also my Anspieltipps. The other five pieces of the original LP can not hold all the quality. Therefore considers this issue directly 7 !!! Bonus Tracks ago. Of these, I like the `Rainbow blues` best.
Overall, "War Child" offers a mix of rock, prog, folk and pop. This concept goes on good total. The Prog of the two predecessor was something `leichterer` songs somewhat pushed into the background in favor.
"War Child" is not one of the strongest albums of Jethro Tull, a good deal more varied rock music, it is all. `Skating away ...`, `Bungle were blues` in the jungle` and` Rainbow to band classics. From me 4 stars for the War Child, which came in at number 2 on the charts in the US.
