A win ...

Had the R4i (wood version) ordered without having previously experienced it live, which is not safe is not usual in this brand.
No disappointment after delivery!
Best sound, powerful, sovereign. CDs sound brilliant, iPod naturally somewhat less resolution, but still very good. Radio mode on the rod antenna, which I will replace optical reasons probably through a cable, without any problems, both DAB (digital, not to be confused, however, with Internet radio, what the R4i does not offer) as well as analog.
We have sonicated the living room, and although the R4i to require any further assistance, hang two nearfield monitors off (Adam A5), on the other side of the room. When enabled, really goes off the post!

Some people criticized the remote control: for me there is no reason to.
It is quite intuitive - after a relatively short employment therefore has to "plan", where the functions are. The volume knob I think that is excellent, the gradual adjustment (with the slight snapping back) is initially a bit unusual, but seems to me now as before well-designed, user-friendly solution.
Also criticized that one only 5 can store DAB and 5 analog radio stations: that's true, but for me personally is that enough and, more memory would result in a compromise on the remote control (more keys), which is currently uncompromising good in my opinion !
Someone criticized the fact that one can not "fast forward" mode in CD (long piece, you want to a specific location): That's not true, it is fine.
Unlike partially describes the remote control also works fine when it is held only about toward the machine. And, it's just beautiful, is often taken in hand, has character.

I've discovered after two weeks, nothing I to the Ruark R4i miss (Internet Radio I would not need) or what I think is in need of improvement. It enriches our lives at home, and that's more beautiful than I am sure that the British manufacturer is not enriched to its customers: the product has every cent or penny it costs, earned!
